About the workshop:
In this two-day workshop, Laurent will show you how to use breathwork and pranayama to support and deal with common health conditions encountered in your personal life or with students.
Breathwork and pranayama are two powerful techniques that offer a range of therapeutic benefits. By consciously manipulating the breath, these practices can enhance physical and mental health, boost the immune system, and improve cardiovascular function. They are also known to reduce stress and anxiety, promote relaxation and resilience, and increase energy and vitality.
Breathwork involves consciously altering one’s breathing patterns through deep breathing, hyperventilation, breath retention, and breathing retraining. Pranayama, a specific type of breathwork used in yoga, aims to balance the flow of life force energy in the body.
Both breathwork and pranayama have numerous health benefits. They can be beneficial for managing symptoms of mental and physical health conditions such as stress, anxiety, burnout, insomnia, and breathlessness.
However, it is essential to approach these practices cautiously and seek guidance from a qualified teacher. Specific techniques may be contraindicated for certain health conditions, and incorrect performance may lead to adverse effects.
Suppose you are interested in exploring these practices. In that case, Laurent’s two-day workshop is an excellent opportunity to learn how to practice or offer those beneficial and powerful techniques to support health.
The first day will focus on regulating the nervous system, finding calm, and supporting mental health by using breathwork techniques to manage stress, anxiety, burnout and insomnia. On the second day, the focus will be on managing breathlessness caused by specific health conditions such as cardiovascular issues, asthma, and other respiratory restrictions.
Participating in this workshop will give you valuable insights into how breathwork and pranayama can support your or your students’ health and well-being.
About Laurent :
Laurent Roure has been practising and studying pranayama in the style of Dr Gitananda Saraswati Sri’s yoga system for many years. He advocates for the Gitananda system due to its strong emphasis on physical therapeutics. Laurent’s refreshed and revisited approach to pranayama also utilises breathing techniques outside the traditional yogic system and seamlessly embeds them into his practice and teaching.
Laurent’s approach is thus finely tuned to be relevant and applicable to our twenty-first-century lives.
He trained and mentored many teachers, therapists, coaches, and health carers for several years with his 60-hour Breathwork and Pranayama CPD course.
