In this unique and practical online masterclass, Laurent Roure, a Senior Yoga and Breathwork teacher based in London will share his insights and knowledge on how to safely practice breathwork and pranayama while stimulating and releasing tension and restrictions in the respiratory structures.

During the first part of the class, Laurent will take a somatic approach by using gentle movements to create an inner awareness of the body’s restricted and unconsciously tightened regions, such as the neck, shoulders, thorax, and abdomen. These areas are commonly affected by stress, anxiety, burnout, depression, or trauma. Proper stimulation and liberation of the main respiratory structures are essential for optimal breathing, which in turn affects our mental and physical health.

During the second part of the session, Laurent will also teach soma-breathing techniques that promote body safety and improve mood regulation. Some breathing techniques may be unsafe if practised improperly, but Laurent will demonstrate how to modify and utilise them safely and supportively.

Laurent’s work is grounded in years of experience working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges, requiring him to adapt his approach to meet their needs while allowing them to practice somatic and yoga techniques like everyone else.
