Introduction to Breathwork and Pranayama
Saturday 1st December • 14:00 - 17:00£35
Breathing is a basic human need which we tend to ignore or take for granted until something affects our capacity to do it. Think of how you feel when you have a cold!
Breathing is also one of the gateways between the mind and the body and learning to utilise its power can be healing for both. Properly controlled, our breath can support, calm, strengthen and stimulate us.
In order to perfect the skills needed to get the most from one’s breath, regular practice is encouraged. A great place to start is with the ‘Introduction to Breathwork and Pranayama’ workshop. In this workshop, Laurent Roure, senior yoga teacher and breath expert, introduces you to modern breathwork techniques as well as the more ancient yogic art of breathing, pranayama.
The structure of the workshop is designed to be easily comprehensible and accessible to all levels. Attendants will gain a well-rounded understanding of breathwork and pranayama, in both theory and practice, through a clear step-by-step approach.
Here are some topics covered during the workshop:
- The anatomy of the breath.
- Moving and preparing for easy and better breathing.
- Laying the foundation of breathing: bonding with and finding the breath.
- The mechanics: finding the rhythm of your breath.
- Introduction to the pranayama classical breath.
- Using the breath to heal.
- Meditating and relaxing with the breath.
Laurent aims to give you the skills to find health, peace and fulfilment through harnessing your most invaluable possession: your breath.Book now Subscribe to my Newsletter
