Senior Yoga Teacher, Trainer and Mentor
Laurent Roure
My approach to yoga has evolved over the years, shifting from a focus on alignment and achieving postures to a more somatic, intuitive, and attentive way of practising, allowing us to find calm, safety, and a stronger mind-body connection.
Rather than “doing” the pose, I now encourage a way of receiving it: listening to the body, sensing how movement arises, and allowing the breath and gravity to guide the experience; creating a quieter, more instinctive practice where the body is seen not as an object to shape, but as a living process to sense and explore.
My teaching is grounded, human, pragmatic, and non-dogmatic. It combines classical and contemporary elements and offers a therapeutic, supportive approach suitable for all levels, ages, and abilities. I draw on decades of experience across various yoga traditions, heavily influenced by Scaravelli-inspired Yoga. My ongoing somatic explorations include Feldenkrais and mind-body centring.
This multi-layered approach aims to provide you with practical tools to build a relationship with your body and breath that feels clear, supportive, and relevant to your daily life, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
My Approach
Accessible, practical, and simple practices for the body and mind
My meticulous yet relaxed and humanistic approach to teaching yoga combines classical and contemporary elements. I offer a therapeutic and supportive practice suitable for all levels, ages, and abilities. This multi-faceted approach is oriented towards giving you all the necessary tools to develop your practice in a way that feels most helpful for your physical and psychological well-being.
My Teaching Style
Authentic and non-dogmatic teaching, every time
Over the past decade, I have specialised in a contemporary interpretation of traditional pranayama and meditation, alongside other recent breathwork and meditation methods. With these tools in hand, I aim to cultivate a caring, understanding, and supportive yoga culture centred on respect, safety, self-knowledge, and support for others. My experience and skills allow me to offer you the tools of yoga and somatic practices therapeutically, both privately and in groups, during my online and in-person classes, wellness workshops, and events around London, throughout the UK, and abroad.
My Personal Style
Compassionate connection
I support students dealing with mental health issues, including stress, anxiety, trauma, burnout, and insomnia. I also work with cancer patients at any stage of their illness or recovery, helping them move through their healing journey and addressing their mental health. I am a qualified Mental Health First Aider. With my experience and knowledge of breathwork, I help people experiencing breathlessness caused by pulmonary illnesses such as asthma, COPD, COVID-19, cardiovascular diseases, and more. Every year, I train students, yoga teachers, therapists, healthcare workers, and others during my Professional Trainings.
Acknowledgements
Many thanks and all my gratitude to my teachers and mentors, past, present and future. Thank you to all my students who trust me, believe in me and allow me to learn and grow beside them. Endless love to my husband José, my family and friends who support me through this journey.
