In 2018, Jaideep, the owner of Zen Maitri in Chiswick, contacted me for a meeting. I was intrigued because his business is not a yoga studio but a natural health apothecary, a Western herbalist.
He was looking for someone who would complement their dedication to supporting people’s health and wellbeing with yoga. He wanted someone who understood the relationship between meditation, breathwork, and movement with their offerings, herbal medicine.
It is not a new concept. Ayurveda has done it for centuries, but there is nothing like this in the UK.
Together, we are helping people with their mental health and health conditions ranging from cancer to asthma, and we are creating a holistic bubble filled with tools for everyone who wants to feel assisted in their healing journey.
As a team, we are creating courses, workshops and classes that make a big difference in people’s lives, and for me, this is why I have studied and practised yoga for decades.
Zen Maitri kindly invited me for an interview where I spoke about my yogic journey, the roles of yoga and its tools in our lives, and how I see yoga developing and transforming in the future. I hope you will enjoy this read as much as I enjoyed writing it.
